According to Cyber Bully Radar, “many parents do believe they believe their children and teens are engaging in what is referred to as sexting because they believe their child is too innocent for such behavior…. Another truth is that theses children are more likely to engage in sexual intercourse in comparison the their peers as well.” The reasons and facts about sexting are alarming and yet normal at the same time. There are three main reasons that woman sext: they do it as a joke, to feely sexy, the smallest percent fill that they are pressured to do it (Do Something). The ages of sexting are dropping to young ages, the youngest to be 13-year-old girls. Do Something talks about why girls and woman feel this need to be wanted? Do they realize that not only one person is going to see the photo of them? According to Do Something over 17% percent sexters will show someone else the photo, and 55 percent of the ones who were shown the photo first, will share it with more than one person. Sexting is just as bad as a young child drinking, smoking, or even doing drugs. We educate all of these harmful things in school, but what they forget is the most important. They should be spreading and educating all grades on cell phone safety, and eventually the dangers of sexting. Youth need to learn to slow down and enjoy life now, and when it is time for sexual things they will know and should talk about it in a responsible way.
In conclusion, sexting is an easy way to cause self-harm, and other such things. People who are involved believe that this is a true harm to the youth and even the younger adults. Although the phone screens and the apps we download on it, make it even more intriguing for people to sext and send nudes. Although, teens think they know everything, in the case of sexting they would wish they knew everything. Many teens were in legal trouble with sending nudes, receiving nudes, and even spreading them
