Argumentative Essay About Domestic Violence

Sometimes parents can disagree with each other and still manage to address the problem peacefully, where both sides get a chance to listen to one another and negotiate. However, oftentimes when parents disagree, they argue, which in some cases led to aggressive physical acts. Studies shows that three to four million children between the ages of three to seventeen are at risk of exposure to domestic violence each year, the children often witness the domestic violence. Children who are exposed to domestic violence become frightened and careful, they were always feeling wary, in suspense for the next event to be triggered. When I opened the door, I locked eyes with my younger brother just when he was about to check on what was happening too, for a split second I saw fear in his bulging eye. My mother and my father was arguing in the corridor, they didn't seem to notice our arrival, suddenly they started shrieking at each other. My father grabbed everything his raging eyes saw and smashed it to the ground with his brawny arms, China glass, remote control and hand-phones shattered on the ground. After that my father yelled, “I am going to kill you!”, the words came thundering like a wild storm. He then advanced towards my mother, hands balled into fists, and shaking violently with anger. I was terrified and shaken, I remember wanting to go to sleep and when I woke up the nightmare would have gone away. When I entered my bedroom, I found my younger brother in tears by the corner of the room with his head on his knees. My heart was like the broken China glass, in pieces, on the floor. I never felt so powerless in my life, I felt worthless. I touched his damp cheek, wiped his tears away and comforted him, I promised to myself that I would not let anyone or anything hurt my soft-hearted little brother
