[3] Unfortunately with the advance of technology, individuals can feel safe bullying and scoffing at others because their pictures and identities are hidden behind a computer screen. [1] Individuals who become the unfortunate victims of cyber bullies can experience devastating bouts of depression and self-degradation. [6] With friendships also come bullies. Technology provides a more secret avenue for bullies to take advantage of there victims and yet not easily be caught. In real life friendships and relationships, although bullying still occurs, having an actual friend there in that moment helps to encourage victims. [4] Having a physical friend to comfort someone when one feels down is truly a priceless gift. Additionally, if individuals are only friends through a technological screen – such as phones, tablets, Ipads, and computers – then there will never be true faithfulness and trust between individuals, as they may claim to be "best friends" and yet have closer relationships with the real people living around them.
