What comes to mind when I say the word anime? Maybe you cringe. Maybe you think “that's what my little brother watches.” Maybe you don't really have any thoughts or opinions on the matter. Or maybe, like me, you are thinking of certain people's claims that anime is the best form of art, and you are itching to prove them wrong. Well don’t worry my friend, because I have wrote the perfect column for you.
Now maybe some of you don't know me so well, so I'd like to tell you that I consider myself an artist. I typically stick to the loud and obnoxious noise making side of art called music, but I have also taken exploratory art and drawing and design. Music has been studied and perfected over hundreds of years. There are many different genres and it's one of the only forms of art that I think everyone really appreciates. Pop music has a formula that just works, it's like magic, but it's really science happening in your ears. Maybe you think pop music is for normies, and real music is written by some old guy like Bach or Mozart. Or maybe you listen to country music. I won't judge. It's still better than anime. Music is better than anime because we all love it, and it is found in every culture. Another bonus to music is that I don't need subtitles or badly dubbed English to help me understand it.
And what about visual arts!? They don’t get enough respect. The oldest known art is small sculptures, cave paintings, and carvings. Paintings and drawings have taken on so many different
