Argumentative Essay: Abortion Is Murder

Improved Essays
The third most important issue in the 2016 Presidential election is abortion. Abortion is one of the most important issues because abortion is murder. Since abortion is murder to innocent unborn children, the procedure should be illegal. Although restrictions of abortion give women enough information about abortion to protect the lives of unborn children, the law is never enough. Government funds need to go to health clinics that do not provide abortions instead of going to Planned Parenthood because the government funds are allowing Planned Parenthood to kill unborn babies. Pro-choice or proponents of abortion believe abortion should be legal because a woman will resort to unsafe and dangerous procedures, which will endanger the woman’s health. …show more content…
For example, the baby’s “skull is crushed so that [the baby] can pass through the birth canal” (“Abortion”), which causes the baby to suffer before it is brutally murdered. Statistics show that fetuses past a certain stage can feel pain during abortion procedures. Researchers have found that “by 20 weeks [of] fetal age and even earlier, an unborn child responds to many forms of stimuli” (“Abortion”), which means the fetus can hear sounds even the mother’s voice. Opponents of abortion can state that there is no excuse to get an abortion and the Roe v. Wade law should not allow women to get abortions. Even if the woman claims she has no way of taking care of the child, there are better options. Statistics show that there are over “3,000 crisis pregnancy centers in the United States” (“Abortion”) and the pregnancy centers will provide mothers with food, clothes, and other supplies to help take care of the baby. Researchers have found that Planned Parenthood is killing numerous unborn children on a manufacturing level. However, the government is still giving funds to the Planned Parenthood organization. A lot of people believe a woman has the right to get an abortion if she was raped. However, if rape is not acceptable, then murder should not be acceptable either. Some people believe a woman should have the right to get an abortion if incest is the issue. However, a baby with incest parents will have the same chances of getting a physical or

Did you know from Roe v. Wade in 1973 to 2011, about 53 million legal abortions were performed in the United States - an average of 1.4 million a year? The debate over whether or not abortion should be legal continues to divide this country today long after the Supreme Court’s 7-2 ruling on Roe v. Wade declaring the procedure a fundamental right on January 22, 1973. There are three different views on the issue of abortion: the extreme conservative view, the extreme liberal view and moderate view, which lie in between both extremes. The extreme conservative view, identifying themselves as anti-abortionists (also known as being pro-life), contend that personhood begins at conception, therefore abortion by their definition is homicide. The second view on the issue of abortion is the extreme liberal view.…

All human beings care for their safety. This is due to their natural fear of death. Especially when people have close, caring, connections with others, their concern for others is just as strong as their concern for themselves. Families automatically have connections, but the love within them is not always there. Mothers who abort their children do not show much love for their child.…

An abortion is effectively a medical decision and it should be made between the mother and her doctor. A woman should not be forced to have a child, and it would make little sense for a woman to have a child when they may not be ready. It would be unfair to not only the mother, but the child as well, the child may not receive the level of care that it deserves. Mothers may choose abortion because they are not prepared to have a child, it makes no sense for the mother to be forced into parenthood. After the child is born, the only people that will be there to support it would be its parents, and if the parents are not ready, there will be no way for the child receive the care it…

For example what if the mother’s life was in danger if she went through with the birth? Would abortion be acceptable then? In other cases where women have experienced incest or rape, it seem almost unfair that they should have to keep the child after such a traumatic event. Every time the mother would look at her child she would be reminded of the horrifying experience. Incest could cause the child to be mentally retarded or…

According to Snyder in his article, “every single day, more than 3,000 American babies are killed by abortion.” Why is it that the 9/11 tragedy, which killed almost 3000 people, is still a huge issue up until today, but when it comes to the issue of abortion, almost everyone is taking it for granted? People might think that the unborn babies feel no pain, but believe it or not, surgeon Robert P. N. Shearin claims that they can experience pain as early as 8 weeks old! The issue of abortion has always been one of the most controversial political issues in the United States.…

Choosing Life Over Death Conflicting issues often occur over the subject of abortions and whether or not they should be permitted. Each year between forty and fifty million abortions occur, that 's an estimated 125,000 deaths every day just from abortions. This is a very emotional topic as it deals with the life of a precious baby in which the child 's life is in the hands of its mother who has the option to have the child or kill it before it 's even born. Abortion by definition is defined as “the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy.” An abortion isn 't just the death of an unborn baby, it’s murdering a child that will now have no chance to live…

They argue that abortion protects the life and choices of mothers but offers zero protection for the children. The abortion law does not provide a specific time frame that abortion can occur. It has been found that after roughly “20 weeks of gestation” the fetus is fully formed and capable of feeling pain (Zagorski). Therefore the question of whether it is morally correct to inflict pain on a fully formed human comes into play It is possible for women to abuse the abortion law by continually choosing to become impregnated and receive multiple abortions rather than using other forms of birth control that are available to them at little or no cost.…

I.Introduction The topic of abortion is currently one of the most controversial issues. The 1973 supreme court ruling of Roe v. Wade allowed for women to legally obtain abortions throughout their entire pregnancy, however, conditions were put into place that allowed for states to regulate abortions during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The right to have an abortion is protected under the constitution’s 14th amendment which protects the basic rights of citizens. This ruling has left our country divided in half by those who are for and against abortion. Those who oppose Roe v. Wade are referred to as pro-life and those in agreement are pro-choice.…

Abortions are one of the most controversial topics debated, with their being two sides: “pro-life” or “pro-choice”. Pro-life advocates argue that an abortion is a woman's right to choose, and women should be able to make decisions that involve their body and health. Pro-life advocates argue that an abortion is considered murder, with the reason being that an unborn child is living, fully human, helpless and voiceless while developing inside the womb (K, Brown). Although countless individuals feel that abortions should be a woman's right to choose, abortions should be illegal altogether because it denies and deprives the rights of life, can result in medical complications and psychological trauma for women, and because of the fact that a fetus is capable of feeling pain. TFP Student Action states since the…

A woman will have to decide for herself, based on what she believes in, how her life will be with those beliefs, and who she will integrate with her decision. Abortion is not a choice for everyone, however for Pro-choice supporters is the right decision whether it is for convenience or to a woman who was a rape victim and wanted to end the pregnancy. It seems like an easy fix to a life problem that you can 't solve by yourself. If you start thinking about what will happen if abortions were made illegal, consequently a number of women will become injured or sterile as a result of the procedure. People will think that giving the child up for adoption could be the solution but in most cases, this can be very emotionally damaging for the child 's mother.…

Also, a person taking away another person’s rights is illegal. And the right to choose what happens with your body should include having an abortion or not. Another argument pro-life people would have is that it is obviously risky for the mom. Having an abortion can result in complications in the mother’s future health, like he risk of ectopic pregnancies doubles, and the chance of a miscarriage and pelvic inflammatory disease also increases. (Lowen) I would argue that it’s risky either way.…
