What do you think of killing a child? You probably think that it is cruel and unreasonable to kill a innocent child, but what about a unborn child? The scary truth is that millions of people believe that killing a child is okay, as long as it hasn’t been born yet. This is called abortion, one of the world’s biggest controversies. Should we make it illegal? Is it right or is it wrong? Abortion is wrong because it denies the pursuit of happiness, discriminates, and is selfish.

In many cases, women decide to abort their unborn child, because they don’t want to disappoint the child with a horrible life. They say this is the best thing for their child. In all reality though, anyone can have a good and happy life. In the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution it says “All men are created equal..with certain Rights...Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”This means that no one will be deprived of life (Listland). Tossing away a fetus, is also tossing its chance of pursuing happiness and chance to change the world.

In today's society, discriminating different races or genders is illegal under the Civil Right Act of 1964 (FindLaw). What many people don’t realize about abortion is that it can be discriminating. Today 80% of pregnancies where the babies has Down

Many argue that rape is a good enough reason for a women to have an abortion, but getting rid of a living creation because of your misfortune is plain out selfish. A unknown female from St.Louis, Missouri tells her story."I chose to have an abortion. I chose to murder my children, and now I have to try and live with this. Every day. I grow more and more hopeless. The shadow of regret creeps upon me, and I feel it suffocating me” (Abort73). This is just one of many women that regret aborting their child. Abortion is already a horrible thing, why should innocent blood have to pay for your

Federal Government Should Outlaw Late-Term Abortion In 2013, reporter Sarah Terzo from Live Action News in Virginia indicated that late-term abortion clinic shoots babies through the heart with poison in order to kill them. This example is a good reason to why the federal government should be outlawing late-term abortion. No matter what situation the mother and fetus are in, every fetus should have the right to live a meaningful life. However, the federal government should outlaw abortion after the first trimester because many of the practices are inhumane, all fetuses should have the right to live, and the ways abortion can cause risks for the women. Why choose abortion? Abortion is seen as a necessity right because a women shouldn’t need a reason to not want to be pregnant. In the article “Abortion With Apology”, Katha Pollitt persuasively argues that it is simply the woman’s body and nothing should stand in the way of what she wants for herself. Pollitt asks, “What’s praiseworthy about bearing more children than you can--or want to--take care of?” (Abortion Without Apology).…

Is she expected to give birth? Or die trying? This is why it is vital considering all circumstances before coming to the automatic response of “Give it up for adoption.” Randie Bencanann, who worked in an adoption agency, even goes to state, “And while abortion is not always a regret-free procedure, studies show that the vast majority of those who obtain one feel that it is the right decision—even those who experience negative feelings after the fact”.…

It is understandable to see why a mother would abort her child if her life is at risk, but this is at the expense of a baby, who has no part in the decision. Abortion disrespects the safety of a child, which ultimately end in death. Not only is abortion unsafe for a child, but abortion can cause health problems in a woman later on. Having an abortion has become a quick and easy fix for women who have made a mistake and this is horrible. The other problem is that women are not using it as a one-time fix and learning from their mistakes, but rather as a contraception. This is proven by statistics such as, “50% of women now seeking abortion have had at least one previous abortion” (Guttmatcher). This shows how people are not taking an abortion serious enough. They are taught that the baby is not a living person, but a tissue and so they do not think it is that big of a deal to abort the baby.…

I agree with Marquis when he states that abortion is only not seriously wrong in unusual circumstances such as rape or if the baby has little to no chance at survival. Abortion is an important topic in today’s society because in 2016 people from younger age groups are ending up pregnant with no chance of taking care of the baby, this results in child abuse and neglect. It is very easy for me to oppose abortion because I am not in this decision making process, the answer always boils down to the mother and her decision making choices. If abortion is the only chance at a mothers survival then it should be excepted. Rarely do you find a women who has been raped and impregnated that keeps the baby and is actually happy with the choice of keeping the child.…

Abortion is a touchy issue. Many say it is okay, others are totally against it, and some think it’s acceptable, depending of the circumstances. In my opinion, it’s wrong and not at all necessary, unless in the case of pregnancy, the mother is informed she will perish during the pregnancy term. Science continues to say a fetus is only a small “lump of tissue” but it isn’t, it’s human, it is a life. We are taught, “You shall not murder,” yet there are about 100, 000 lives aborted yearly.…

If a female decides that she does not want to carry a pregnancy to term, that is her prerogative. It is a decision that will solely affect her life, so she she be the one to make it. Some women are raped, resulting in a pregnancy. Pro-Life advocates argue that the resulted fetus should not be aborted because it is innocent and aborting it will be punishment, however, they do not put into consideration the women’s emotional and mental state. Another reason women get abortions, is if there is something medically wrong with the fetus.…

On average, there are 293,066 sexual assaults on women ages 12 and up every year in the United States of America. If you do the math, factor in the leap years, that comes down to about one sexual assault of a woman anywhere from the age 12 and up every 107 seconds. What if some of these sexual assaults ended in pregnancies? About 5.0% of them do, although it may not seem like much, it 's important. By no means should abortion be promoted as a product in the supermarket, however that does not mean the option should be taken away from women who suffer from sexual assaults which are unfortunately often committed domestically or by someone they know.…

Another topic that has been used against pro-choice supporters and abortionists is the topic of abortion being “immoral”. Pro-life supporters talk about the immorality of abortion by saying that it is the murder of babies. On the contrary, abortion is not even remotely close to murder. Murder, by definition, is the act of one human taking away the life of another human. The pregnancy is not a human yet and therefore, cannot be referred to as a human (even abortion doctors refer to the embryo as the pregnancy) which means that abortion is not equal to murder.…
