MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--The West Virginia University football team is off to a 6-0 start for the first since the 2006 season. With success sometimes comes failure but the Mountaineers are trying to stay ground amidst their success.
"I think we have a group of kids who understands where we are, WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen said. "Our job is the same going into game seven as it was going into game one. You have a week, you prepare all week and you practice hard to get yourself in a position to play on Saturday and then go play.
"Our guys like where they are, based on what people are saying or the attention, I can assure you has no impact on them whatsoever to how today’s practice is going to be and what they are going to do to prepare to win the game this Saturday. That message has been sent loud and clear, and guess what, it was sent loud and clear August 1. We have goals ahead of us, and we are not anywhere close to being in a position to meet any of them."

"We have to take it one week at a time," center Tyler Orlosky said. "Our stance is any team can beat us and we can beat any team. This team understands that. I think this team understands that. The Mountaineers (16-11) relied on its youthful lineup to defeat the Eagles (12-16). Its freshman starters picked seven of WVU’s eight hits up. They accounted for four of the five RBI. “The last two games we’ve had better energy, better effort,” Mountaineers head coach Randy Mazey said. “Now we’ve won four out of five, three of those being one-run games, so now I think this team is starting…

The Carolina Panthers are enjoying their bye week in the best position possible at 4-0. The last time this team was undefeated was 2003; when we made it to the Super Bowl I'd say that is good karma. Many around the league have called us “the worst undefeated team due to the lack of competition we faced early in the year. My response to that is we don't make the schedule and the reality is in any sport anyone can win on any day. I will echo head coach Ron Rivera's sentiments when he said we are not going to apologize for being undefeated.…

In my argumentative essay I defend why football is a dangerous sport and should be avoided with young children ages 6-12. My previous essay used data from secondary sources and primary sources, however supporting my stance with only words was a challenge. Without visual and audio elements I felt I had trouble communicating with the reader. My remediation into a prezi uses a combination of videos and images to present the consequences of playing football. To support my claims I use evidence from expert researchers and certified doctors.…

There is always drama and suspense leading up to National Signing Day which has become the most important day to college football teams all around the country but that wasn't the case this afternoon for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Today saw Coach Holgorsen and his staff sign every committed player that was expected to sign, sign with the Mountaineers. West Virginia failed to sign a quarterback in this class which concerns some fans but don't forget that WVU has Will Grier (JR), Chris Chugunov (SO), and Cody Saunders (FR). There is youth at the position but as we have seen before you can never have enough experience at the quarterback position. Two strengths that West Virginia walked away with in this class are defensive line and defensive backfield which should make defensive coordinator Tony Gibson a very happy man.…

So, yes I agree football is the appropriate for it is the players choice to feel the pain and they will end up feeling the remorseful players beating into their skulls and the Chronic consequences. Also there's a risk everywhere you go or do for example you can get hit by a car, a brick can fall on you from construction which can cause a concussion. It is that one being or the player that makes the choice and risk of playing a full contact sport like football.…

The Browns have won double-digit games just once since returning to the NFL in 1999, as Derek Anderson went 10-5 as Cleveland’s starter in 2007. To fix their issues behind center, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns will try to trade for New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, depending on how their draft evaluations go over the next several weeks. But before we get into whether the Browns should trade for Garoppolo, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at all of the quarterbacks the Browns have started since 1999. Successful quarterback play is essential to have a stable franchise, which the Browns have been anything but…

Five years in a row, undefeated each season, had the best team in the league. It was just another Sunday afternoon, my team and I were prepared for another championship game. Going into the games we held our heads high, knowing we were the defending champs for five years straight, never losing a game, and absolutely destroying our opponents by large margins of victory. It was the Huskies vs. the Heat, you could say they were our rivals, but we knew that they couldn’t handle the competition we competed at. Every game we played against them, we blew them out, enjoying the sweet taste of victory.…

The team had to be good, they had to work hard every day, they had to win districts, they had to win regional’s, and the most importantly the team had to get along great they have to be a family.…
