Michael Grothaus, a Journalist from London, England, experienced an enlightening and agitated moment as he began to write about and experience for a week not having the most essential technology that everybody uses in their daily lives. The cellphone, Michael explains that he was having a hard time to even begin to write his daily article as he was getting distracted by his cell phone (something I do as well along with some other who may be reading this!). With this said, he goes for a whole week without his cell phone and explained through his article the experiences and struggles without having his cell phone addiction.

Grothaus stated that he was born in the 80s and stated that when he was a teenager in the 1990s he was able to cope without his cell phone so it should be easy right? He started first by turning his cell phone into a “dumb phone”, as he explains, that he deleted all of his apps games music, video, miscellaneous item.s and just used his cell phone usage for calls and texts only. (similar to a very early 2000 cell phone) he records his experiences of not having a cell phone. He first began to feel bare and vulnerable of not having to see the news, weather and online social media. Grothaus felt depressed and bored for long amounts of times. He also concluded how much he needed his cellphone and how life for him was so easy to just click and tap button to access whatever he wanted. As the week progressed he found himself become more social, not just to other people but his surrounding and life that he walk through that he had missed by being addicted to his cell phone.
