The price for healthy food are much higher than unhealthy food. I don’t go grocery shopping with my aunt so often, but I was shocked by the price on the first time I went. That was the first time I went to Costco and surprised by those enormous products and portions. I followed my aunt to a freezer room to get fresh mushrooms and other vegetables. Compare to the farmer’s market I went before, the choices were less and were more expensive. Then we went to the snacks section. I saw a bag of potato chips as large as my body and was only six dollars. That huge bag of chips had the same price of a box of salad veggies. That is why the US government is responsible to decrease public obesity. I have tried hard to control the balance and portions of food in my diet to avoid being obese. Others might not have the same opportunity and willpower as I did, so the price for healthy food should be lower than the price for unhealthy food which will be more affordable for poverty families. Also, the portions of food products can also be regulated by the government in order to control over-consuming.
