As documented in the proposal argument essay "Case for Legalization of Prostitution", "The average annual income of an employee at one Nevada brothel working only one week per month is at least $100,000. Based on this figure, each legally licensed sex worker would contribute more than $20,000 in federal income taxes per year." (Sonntag, 2009). Our country is in poverty and the taxation of prostitution would be a huge contributor in getting it out of it's hole. Not only would taxing prostitution aide in decreasing poverty levels in America, but the legalization of prostitution would also create more jobs for the people too fearful of being arrested for their work otherwise. As many as 30 million Americans are out of work or unemployed (McCloskey, 2015). With the addition of prostitution to the work field we add a limitless amount of jobs for Americans. By keeping prostitution illegal we as a country are denying our citizens job
