Argument Against Zoos

In the beginning of my high school career I enjoyed writing because at that point is was more focused on creativity rather than analysis. We eventually began branching out and started writing persuasive essays and research papers.
Of course, I enjoyed creative writing the best because it was an outlet to express my opinions. The second type of writing I felt most confident in was persuasive. In high school we made arguments based on a certain topic we choose. In my opinion, the best paper I’d written in high school was arguing why zoos should be banned. I had to do research both supporting my argument and my rebuttal. I knew exactly what I was arguing for, and I felt passionately about the situation, which gave me extra motivation necessary

I have never enjoyed writing because I don't think I am good writer. I never want to sit down and write what ever is on my mind. English is one of my toughest subjects because since I’m not good at it, I haven’t taken the time to learn it properly, which makes it hard. In 8th grade, we were assigned a Research Paper. We were suppose to write at least 6-8 pages.…

Writing has not been one of my best skills in life. If I can get out of writing, I will. When writing long research papers, I did not feel inspired to write it and I will do the bare minimum. When it came to the last couple of years and we can choose our topic of desire while writing essays, I became more involved.…

With the biotic world still being destroyed and harmed at an alarming rate, entire biomes are endangered and whole ecosystems are threatened by anthropogenic pressures. These changes globally have impelled zoos and aquariums to create and establish conservation benefits. This coupled with the growth in economic rationalism and the rise of corporate management, rationalises the feasibility of projects in terms of economic efficiencies. Which has seen the battle between balancing of public entertainment and money with the welfare of animals. It is argued that zoos need to maintain a more concentrated engagement with a range of ethical and pragmatic consideration in the appraisal of animal welfare under the conditions for research.…

Really, the only kind of writing I do outside of school is text my friends. It’s been a pretty long time since i’ve written a story or something outside of school. The reason for that is because I don’t like to write without a specific subject. To be honest, I’m ok with writing, as long as it has some sort of a subject. I absolutely despise having to write some random story that doesn’t have any control, it’s just not fun.…

Writing is a topic that I have always enjoyed in school. This year, College Writing I has been intriguing and a class that I always enjoyed going to. I enjoyed having a free write journal and answering prompts almost every day. I believe that it is a good way to practice my writing and get my brain flowing before class. I enjoyed writing the prompt when we got to describe something normal in a very stretched out and detailed way.…

The fear of writing can have a positive or adverse effect on anyone. I have my own mindset about writing, Fear. When I think about my strong subjects I do not think about writing. Writing has never been one of my strong subjects, in school. Actually let me rephrase that, coming up with ideas has never been my strong subject. If I can come up with an idea by myself, which I can rarely do, and am interested in it, I can write well. Usually though, I barely scrape by with an A- or a B on writing assignments.…

Writing has never been a strong topic for me; however, I still have a love for it. I am a slow thinker and definitely not the most creative when it comes to words. How people get their words to flow, will always be a mystery to me. I have a goal to become the best writer that I possibly can. I believe with the right education and the correct guidance, I can achieve that goal.…

While I did previously have a motivation to explore topics in the world, this class has definitely added to that enthusiasm. In addition to that, it has helped me to further my ability and skills while researching topics. This course has definitely challenged my way of thinking. From David Crystal’s “2b or Not 2b” to David Freeman’s “How Fast Food Can End Obesity”, many of my otherwise mainstream opinions have been challenged. I see that as a good thing, I love looking at things from a new perspective.…

Animals need to have access to enrichment activities that allow them to express their natural behavior. These enrichment activities or toys aim to encourage natural behaviours such as hunting, use of scent and hiding food, provide animal welfare by increasing exercise, satisfying ‘behavioural needs’ and stimulating animals, and to promote visitor education so that visitors can gain a better understanding of their natural behaviours and interests. An example of enrichment provided to animals in captivity is the lions. Lions are given ostrich eggs or pumpkin seeds to spark their curiosity, fragrant herbs and oils to excite the senses and specially made toys to encourage natural behaviours such as hunting and stalking. Another animal which receives enrichment is bears.…

In high school I was exposed to a lot of writing and reading from grades nine all the way through twelve. I learned how to write through literature for the most part but I also learned by building from the ground up. Through high school from freshman year through senior year we wrote 2-3 papers a semester. In my high school English class we did a lot of learning and writing through textbooks, and novels, and what was going on in the world around us.…

I can not really say that I have always liked writing. When I write, it is more of my mind talking on paper instead of my mouth talking. Some things sound better in my mind than they do when I read them out loud. I never did write much at home unless I had to do English homework, but when I did write I wrote pages. I gain this focus feeling that once I am into something I just can stop because once I do, I will just completely forget about it and be busy with another project.…

Writing is something that everybody does. It takes many forms: a text message, an email, an essay, a resume, or anything. A lot of the time we find ourselves writing for fun, that is, if we are writing to converse with someone. Other times, we find ourselves writing almost robotically, following format and length requirements. These are the times in which writing is less enjoyable.…

Ever since I was a kid, I have always enjoyed school. Learning new things, acquiring new skills, and furthering my education are the reasons that I loved school. As much as I enjoyed it, there was one thing that I struggled with and still continue to struggle with: that was writing papers.…
