Prop.F consists in forcing limitations to Airbnb corporations and other short-term vacation homes. These limitations consist on allowing only 75 nights rentals per year, and those renting these properties are required to file written accounts to the city. Those in favor of this proposition say this action is need it to protect the housing stock in San Francisco and enforce citizen to follow the law. While those against Prop. F says it’s an invasion of privacy and creates conflict between fellow neighbors.

He claims “out of the 10 thousand units listed as short-term rentals there are less than 6% that have registered” meaning ‘94% of the people being part of this activity are breaking the law.’ He also mentions how the current law is “unenforceable” do to the lack of “tools.” They are lacking data that show the number of days houses are rented to enforce the law, which they don’t have, and corporations like Airbnb need to try to be part of the solution.
