When seeing the chapter on arguing to persuade I thought wait, didn’t we just read a chapter on arguing to convince? So I had to refer back to the previous chapter to get a better understanding on the difference between arguing to persuade, and arguing to convince. When arguing to convince, it’s all about making the best case for your argument. The main point of arguing to convince is to sway readers with or without the same opinion on your topic, to believe in your reasoning. When arguing to persuade one is asking the audience to do something, or make a change, this is also known as “appealing for action”. Persuasion combines building a case for your argument, then motivating your audience to take action. Making an appeal to your audience
