A great example of non-subtle stereotype can be found anywhere. Most of these stereotypes are in places where a great population of people pass by every day. The reason for these stereotypes are to be provocative, to interest a certain group of people perhaps around a product for example, while also depicting another group. An example that will be presented in this article is the example of billboards. Billboards are widely exposed across high population urban areas; their purpose is to send a message to whoever is reading it. Sometimes billboards contain stereotypes that are either subtle or blatant. The stereotype identified in this article is misogyny, a stereotype that translates into prejudice against women. The reason why this billboard stands directly against women because it directly labels the “ideal body” that a woman should have to be considered beach fit. The woman in the picture is blonde, has a rather large chest, really nice curves, and a suggestive look on her face as well. In addition, it re-enforces negativity surrounding woman’s sexuality, this billboard was met with a lot of backlash from the community. Messages were written on the billboard crossing out “beach body” and replacing it with “Every Body”
