Are The Kardashians Successful

Decent Essays
When you can still be very successful for doing nothing, you are known as the Kardashians. According to our new society the Kardashians are successful. I love the Kardashians because they are able to control our new generations mind by staying rich and looking beautiful. We are wearing their name brand clothing, getting tanned like them, wearing our hair as they do, and getting surgical procedures to mimic their appearance. Society is motivating the Kardashians to thrive, but yet get upset because they are successful. Personally I adore when people take advantage of situations that

The Derogatory Portrayal and its Effects of Women on Reality Television Many individuals are starting to suggest that the massive production of reality shows emanating negative connotations that reflect overly exaggerated images of womanhood could possibly be responsible for significantly contributing to the influx of emotional disturbances and/or behavior disorders. What society has openly embraced as friendly entertainment, has grossly underestimated and/or has a lack of knowledge in understanding the power of subliminal messages that are transmitted to the subconscious mind and as individuals mindlessly engage the viewings of destructive behaviors portrayed by woman; in addition, to the consequences of the psychological effects a large or consistent consumption of such negative influences can have on the mind; thereby, unknowingly establishing destructive patterns of…

During Spring Break I watched the movie “The Bling Ring”. This movie tells the story of a couple of high school teenagers, whom all had a good economical status, but were not happy with all they had and went on styling until they started robbing the houses of many famous celebrities like Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox , Lindsay Lohan etc... They go on burgling houses over and over, until they get caught.…

The Real Housewives: Postfeminist Symbol or Patriarchal Stereotype? Over the past decade, representations of women on television have evolved dramatically. Roles for women are no longer limited to the secretary or office assistant, the stay-at-home housewife, or the damsel in distress waiting to be saved by the manly hero. Women are now represented in both film and television as complex, multi-faceted characters who exist independently of their romantic relationships and home lives.…

The paradox of cultural context is limiting in that her career is formulated upon the inarguable reliance of media, truthful or not. Close reading of the text provides insight into the minds of the manipulative authors of the fourth estate and how they create such intrusive content to engulf the curiosity of the reader. The film Miss Representation was a great, it showed me a lot about women and the history of women that I didn’t know. Women have inspired each other to do more. Women are learning how to motivate one another. Something that caught my attention in the film was that they talked about how “our generation live off phones and Facebooks”. This is something that I agree with even though I do not have a Facebook anymore , but I do know when I did back in middle school I was always one it…

Kim Kardashian’s catapult into the business world and great success over the past decade makes her an ideal walking business model and one of much interest. The reasoning behind this study of Kim Kardashian is simply because her particular road to success is an uncommon one. We live in a society where certain behaviours and standards are forced upon us consciously and subconsciously. We are told that things must be done in a certain order, years of primary, secondary and tertiary education, graduate, get a job, get married, start a family and cease to exist. Kim Kardashian is the epitome of a successful business woman, she is a college dropout, not particularly talented in any skill and began her family before she was married.…

“It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.” - Jared Tolkien A blind man can sense objects near him with a stick, and can take necessary precautions towards any dangers that may present themselves. An able man should be no different, however in this day of technology the modern man has as much self-awareness as a rock. Living blissfully unaware of the dangers that overreach the boundaries of the 5’’ phone screen is a danger itself, and should be common sense to most people. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of common sense left within the world - as political corruption is at an all-time high, european countries are being torn apart, and people completely ignoring facts and evidence to support their own idea of an unattainable utopia, this world is headed toward a war that was foreseeable by even the physically blind.…

In the readings assigned for this week Megan J. Lee and Leign Moscowitz’s expose of the Real Housewives of New York City in The “Rich Bitch” really stood out to me. The reading stood out to me because of the many conflicting attitudes and situations presented in the article. I personally have never watched the Real Housewives because I didn’t feel the need to watch wealthy grown women make a big deal out of the littlest things. It always seemed excessive and ridiculous to have these types of shows that were made to glaringly show off the completely random women’s wealth. However, this article shows that there is so much more to the show.…
