In the article “Are Teenages Replacing Drugs With Smartphones” Matt Richtel explains that there is a correlation between the decrease in drug use simply because of the increase in phone use. Throughout the article, Richtel introduces many opinions of experts and scientists on why they think drug use is declining. He starts with Dr. Volkow, she describes “interactive media as an alternative reinforcer to drugs, adding that teens can get literally high when playing these games” There are many other opinions on this correlation, one of them being from Dr. Harris and Dr. Joseph Lee.
