Are Small Colleges Better?

Decent Essays
I think that smaller colleges are better because there are less people and they could have your profession that you want to do in colleges and the professor might be able to help you if you need it..

It is better for me because there are less students and i could get a lot of help if i need it and I don’t like being around large groups of people and people would talk out as much in larger colleges and smaller ones there is much less noise.

The smaller colleges are more for me because I don’t do good around large crowds of people and I do better when there is a lot less people and if the professor help me with some stuff that I am not understanding if I don’t get it and the professor would know me because there is not a large amount of people.

The most important aspect for me is cost-reduction, since textbooks, food and beverages, and other aspects of college life will come into play during my stay. CSU's at most, in terms of tuition, ask for ~$7,000, however UC's can charge up to over $13,000. This ~$6,000 difference can easily get food in my stomach during my college experience. There is a lot that a college student can do with…

Juilliard is a highly prestigious school for music of all kinds. After researching this school, I have learned that academic scores are not important and that people of all ages can attend this school. The main importance for attending Juilliard is the audition where one will perform and be selected based on their talent. The school seems fantastic to me due to its extremely low acceptance rate which would offer closeness within the students attending the school. I prefer to go to schools with a smaller number of people because it offers more availability for instructers to get to know and help their students.…

Coming from a small high school, Caltech's small size appeals to me as I have experienced that benefits of getting to personally know all my teachers and peers. At larger school, students are treated just like a number, making it harder to access resources or try things for the first time. The small size also contributes to strong friendships and community bonds. After conversing with alumni, I discovered that one eventually knows everyone in his or her class by the end of the first month, and everyone at the school by the time the year ends resulting in a great alumnus connections.…

Perhaps it wasn’t the wisest idea to choose my career path from a Barbie book, but as a four year old, Barbie skewed what little sense of logic I had. The year is 2004, and I am immersed in Barbie: Career Girl. I spend hours perusing the colorful pages, gesturing excitedly at Barbie in each of her occupations. There is one in particular that seems to repeatedly capture my attention: Barbie is dressed in a long white coat, a black stethoscope adorns her neck.
