CEOs are the lead of many people in a company. If they were to fail and cause the company to fail then many people would be out of a job. That would be the lives of thousands that would no longer have a steady income and would have to seek another form of employment. Dorman writes that the median pay for the 200 largest publicly traded companies was $15.1 million (2013). So is it justified that the $15 million helping provide thousands of people with income to feed themselves and others. Furthermore, a great comparison to CEO compensation is professional athletes.
