Having pets I personally believe is a good idea and something that effects our emotional wellbeing. I feel that having a pet not only gives you companionship but also a sense of belonging. Being more physically active, being more conscientious and less fearful of life’s obstacles. Some of the added benefits are having someone to look after other than yourself. Animals are good listeners and they can help lessen allergens in household were children grow up with pets. They help take your mind off concerns and allow you to relax from everyday worrying and they can lessen you isolation in the case of dogs because you can take your dog to a dog park and socialize with other dog owners in a non-threatening environment, and both cats and dogs love you unconditionally (Hark, 2013).
