I believe they are paid too much. According to Mackenzie Carro who believes athletes are not overpaid. She states “we’re the ones who crowd the tv and pack the stadiums when it snows and rains”. In contrast I disagree because seventy-million dollars athletes make for playing a sport is too much money. Imagine you are a hardworking doctor or lawyer, and you aren't getting paid the amount you should be. Other people like you who are bettering our community aren't getting paid the amount they should be, and all of your tax money is going towards paying for athletic stadiums. Doctors, teachers, government employees, police officers, firefighters, and lawyers should be receiving the money that athletes receive. Professional athletes provide entertainment for society, but I believe they receive an unreasonable salary. Overall, athletes are overpaid because all they are doing is playing a game to entertain while other more important professions are making much less, they don't contribute to society, there are better places to use the money, and the money received could be used to pay for more useful causes that would benefit our society.…

One reason i feel they are not overpaid is they had earned to be there they had earned to be playing on that field. Also the better you are the more the teams are going to want to pay for you to be on their team. I also know that athletes had injuries that can cost up to $70,000. Like Paul George when he snapped his leg is basketball that costed approximately $65,000 dollars for surgery. One example is Tom Brady he is a 5 time super bowl champ quarterback.…

How much money does a hard-working, very rewarding person such as a doctor, firefighter, someone who risks their life to fight for freedom, or even the president of the United States of America make? Only a fraction of what Cam Newton, quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, makes. Sports involves at least two competitive opponents that compete against each other for entertainment purposes. Millions of people come to watch these events every year, and even one-third of the United States watched the Super Bowl last year. Professional athletes, especially NBA players are harshly criticized of their high salaries because many people feel what they do does not amount to what they are being paid. They feel NBA players aren’t contributing enough to be paid on that magnitude. Many people can’t stand that NBA players are paid millions while teachers, doctors, lawyers, or other professions are making nothing compared to them. Many strongly feel that NBA players do nothing more than play a ball game. However, there is a lot that NBA players do that people are unaware of.…

College athletes might work their tail off, they might put a lot of time into their sport but that does not mean they should get paid. I do not think college athletes should get paid for three reasons one they are already getting paid, two if they were getting paid they would not focus so much on their education, and three if college organizations were paying their athletes they would not be able to pay for the athletes education and other stuff they provide.…

Football players, baseball players, even hockey players earn enough money to have a pool full of sharks in their backyard. This is already ridiculous as it is, but the fact that some athletes are still rude and disrespectful makes it ten times worse.
