You may see a bee buzzing by, landing on a flower and not even think of the huge effect they have on ‘the world’ around us. Today, I will be talking about how and why honey bees affect Agriculture. The first reason is that honey bees are a big part of pollination everywhere around the world. Providing pollen to farmers' crops and other wild plants. The second reason is that honey bees make honey. Providing food for us and other animals. For example Bears. The third and final reason is what would happen if bees died off. So with that, let’s start the presentation.
Let’s start off with why honey bees are a big part of pollination everywhere around the world. Pollination is the process of pollen being transferred from a male anther to a plant with a female reproductive system organs to form seeds. Without pollination happening we wouldn’t have much farming. Living in a big farming district, that would be a problem. “About 30% of the food we eat come from bees pollinating in just the US alone.” Beespotter.org pointed out.( Economic Importance of Bee$. Honey tends to have lots of uses today. From health and medicine to religious uses as well. Such as Jewish New Year, also called Rosh Hashanah. It’s a tradition to eat apples and honey at the beginning of New Years. By eating them, Jews are asking for a sweet New Year. Without honey they would not be able to continue that tradition. As for the health use of honey. “Honey is used to treat infections, wounds, and more. Honey has antifungal, antibacterial, and antioxidants, making it the ideal thing to help treat wounds.” Dr. Mercola observed, in the article 5 things you didn’t know about honey. (Mercola.
