High amounts of discrimination are everywhere for transgenders and gays. “January 24, 2011 the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released a report recognizing exclusion for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender families and individuals were being excluded from housing opportunities.”(Evidence in housing and rental markets). This concludes discrimination in housing and rental homes for gays and transgenders also being reported of being harassed and having to pay higher rent than straight couples. Also, 39% of gay and lesbian couples have been know to be treated negatively and shown less desirable homes when attempting to buy property (Housing discrimination based on sexual orientation).
