Calculators should be allowed in Math class because it’s a good resource, corrector , and backup for the math student(s).
Calculators should be allowed and used if the student(s) can calculate their own answers or know how to calculate their own answers. Bethany Rittle-Johnson the co-author stauted that “ calculators can be allowed if the student(s) if able to calculate their own answers or learn how to calculate their own answers or know their basic facts then it’s fine using or should be allowed in Math class.” But for the students that does not know their Multiplication facts and is using a calculator can harm them and their grades , but for the students that does know their Multiplication facts using a calculator does not harm them or their grades.

“Teachers struggle with how kids give immediate answers, which teachers know the speeding process, So, teachers allow students to use calculators to check their answers.” - Rittle-Johnson. “ Kmicikewycz added that “ it depend on how you teach the kids and how you market the material, and presentation is also important to the kids.” Calculators should be allowed if the student(s) know their facts first.
Nowadays students are relying on calculators when they do not know the problem, you should know your mental math and know the formulas to solve the problem first and get your answer then use a calculator to check your answers, if you got the answer wrong find out how you got it wrong or where you messed
