My Professional Work Experience Essay

The first encounter I’ve had with Architecture was during the Art class I took in my last year of high school where we were introduced to several art movements that had an influential role in changing the art scene. The movement that immediately captured my attention, however, was Cubism because it rejected the tired traditions of western art and introduced abstract art. This interest guided me to researching online and realizing Cubism spread beyond art to influence design and architectural styles. Consequently, I began to take notice of the small details of the forms and shapes of buildings I used to obliviously pass every day on the street and at this point, I knew I found my passion and therefore, I decided to explore architecture in depth at university. …show more content…
There was pressure on reaching a design that meets the client’s demands within a tight timeframe; however, with some time management and hard work, I proved that I was up for the task. Afterward, I faced the challenge of having to transform my design into a reality when we started the construction of this project. This meant having to supervise the construction team and ensuring that the implementation of the drawings was free of errors. Since being a woman in the construction industry means having to deal with a male-dominant work environment, it was necessary to prove my capabilities to the team and win their trust. Also, like every other construction site, problems happened, and my problem-solving skills were put to the test on a daily basis. These situations allowed me to develop quickly and enhance my communication with the team, and become flexible towards difficult and stressful
