One day King Hieron wanted a crown to be made and the person who made the crown would be given the amount needed to make the crown to the crown maker. When the crown was finished the king suspected that the crown maker took the gold for himself and that the crown was made of silver instead of gold, he could tell by the weight of the crown. He then told Archimedes to determine if the crown was made out of gold, but the catch was that he could not do anything to the crown such as melting it or anything that involved basically destroying it. Archimedes was baffled by this task he was told to do. Until one day when he was taking a bath and then it came to him he yelled out, “Eureka!” He found that if he would sit in the tub it overflowed, by using that he put the crown in water and measured the volume of the water
