In The Odyssey, Count of Monte Cristo, and Thor, all of the main characters have unique attributes or characteristics that makes the hero’s archetype. Homer’s Odysseus (The Odyssey), Alexander Dumas’s Edmond Dantes (The Count of Monte Cristo), and Kenneth Branagh’s Thor (Thor) are all main characters that have special attributes that make the hero’s archetype. Thor’s arrogance, strength, and self-sacrificing attitude make him an epic, and a romantic hero., Odysseus’s Intellect, bravery, and persistence to get back to Penelope makes him an epic and a romantic hero, and Edmond Dantes’s courage, intelligence, and has a self-sacrificing trait makes him an epic and a romantic hero. In the movie Thor Thor(the main character)shows a lot of strength and bravery. In the beginning, he shows he is honest, kind, and is about to marry his fiancé (Mercedes). Which are the traits of a romantic hero. But when he goes to Chateau d’lf, he becomes bitter and vengeful. Along with Edmond is Abbe Faria, which was his mentor while he was in Chateau d’lf. The Abbe Faria taught him math, reading, writing, science, history, and sword fighting.
