Archery Shooting Research Paper

Many people do not see what I do when they walk upon the archery shooting range. Why would anyone stand there for hours in the blazing hot sun shooting bows? For people who do not shoot archery it is just an empty field that has different distances marked off. To me it means everything. Archery is a very demanding activity, both mentally and physically, and the whole season leads up to one important night. The archery shooting range is an open field full of bright green grass and lots of heavy brown square targets all lined up in rows. The first Tuesday practice starts off the whole season. The hundreds of shooters all climb out of their cars dragging behind them all their gear. They then pick their spot next to someone they want and unpack …show more content…
The score that we get at a fair shoot determines what ribbon we get at the fair and what place we take. This night a pen could be heard dropping to the ground. Everything has to go very meticulous this night, so that the coaches can score our targets. Also we have to make it through all fourteen rounds. Each round the shooter walks down to their target and stops at the blazing white line that gets etched in the grass in front of it. Moving past the line the shooter pushes their luck and gets a big zero instead of what they shot. A 300 is a perfect score because we shoot five arrows every round and each arrow can end up worth five points. If we do not hit the mark we hope for, we sulk the whole time we are stripping the range of our existence. In conclusion, one thing in our lives that is monstrously important will always be the archery shooting range. Even though to someone that does not shoot archery it seems stupid. To us shooters, it seems like the whole world revolves around it. Archery is a very demanding activity, both mentally and physically, and the whole season leads up to one important night. I look forward to every Tuesday night that I get to go out to the range and work hard for my favorite activity. Shooting is not everything, but it will always take up a major part of the lives of us shooters out

Growing up, almost every single girl my age played soccer, but I on the other hand, found myself spending a lot of my weekends at the Koko Head Shooting Range. I first learned how to shoot when I was 9 years old and since then, I have been utterly hooked. However, I never really talked about this passion with my friends because when most people hear the word “gun” or “shooting” they associate those words with violence and crime. But to me, this hobby represents so much more. Even though I always found excuses to not try out for the air riflery team at my high school, I still believe that shooting is an exemplary individual sport that assists in developing critical life skills.…

I am not saying that gun hunter’s ideas are wrong and that archery hunter’s ideas are right, or the other way around. I am just encouraging hunters to think outside of the box and use what they know to their advantage. Rifle hunters can simply take the information given in this article and information they have gathered and do the exact same thing. For those who hunt public land with a bow during rifle season, those who hunt after their states gun season ends or those who hunt heavily pressured land, we can learn from these different philosophies and use that knowledge to our…

My dad and I began going around the ranch a day before we went hunting, we looked around to see where the biggest deer’s were located. We tested and align the rifles, to leave everything prepared to go hunting the following day at dawn.
