Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was born in 1863. He was put into the military at age 12. He was promoted through the following times and became a major general at the age of 31. His dad died from Typhoid fever in 1896 so he took over the throne. In 1894 he meets Sophia Chotek. This event led to marriage in 1900. The Austria-Hungary was a polyglot empire at the time. There was a lot of ethics and religions hating each other in the country. It didn't help the archduke control this when some of the citizens thought he was going crazy. With these problems the archduke left a suggestion with a triple monarchy of Slavs, Germans, and Magyars. This would give the three groups of people equal control of the country.
