He had a way of understanding and relating to the society he was a part of and this might be due to the way in which he was raised which was in a very humble, typical style. He could relate to those who he was reaching out to help. Other types of intelligences he had were emotional intelligence because he could empathize with the people and also verbal intelligence because he had an excellent use of words to get his point across as is evident in his homilies and letters. He wanted to achieve this ultimate goal by reaching out and informing people of the injustices in hopes of being heard and making a difference. The conflict he was faced with was that his own church, some of the bishops, was going against what he was doing. They thought he was bringing unnecessary controversy to the church by speaking out against the war and he thought he was doing the right thing. He had to decide whether to follow his peers and go against his will or go with his will and go against his peers. He ended up trying to explain to his peers his point of view but that didn’t work so in the end he ended choosing what he felt was right. Oscar Romero was forever changed from the instance that he heard the sermon given by the priest from his town. After that he was set in his mind that he was going to be a priest and help people. Also I think that going back to El Salvador after having been in Rome for a while might have had an impact in the type of religious leader that Oscar Romero was. He has to accommodate based on his surroundings so during that time, his surroundings were going through a tough time. I feel that perhaps the death of many colleagues or even of just men with the same profession as him (priests) might have affected why e felt so strongly about the war in El Salvador. Not only was the injustice wrong but also the murders that were occurring,
