Architecture is an incredible business that combines both the art and the construction of buildings. It has been on the Earth since the beginning of civilization. Architecture in this case is part of the history of Rome. Here it’s a symbol of when Emperor Constantine won the Roman Tyrant Maxentius. This happened on the 28th of October 312 CE. There were a few aspects I looked at from this monument. I looked at the characteristics this building provided, the detailed review of the exterior facade,the monuments materials, and finally the structural system engineered for this structure.
They were many interesting things I saw from the Arch of Constantine. The overall form of this building is a rectangle with smaller rectangles inside of it. In this building, they are three different arches. The largest arch is 11.5 meters high and 6.5 meters wide. This is the largest arch because it's where the architect wants to bring your eye too. It makes your head move up to the text this monument says.about why this monument was created. The other two arches have a height of 7.6 meters and a width of 3.4. Some of the different pieces of this masterpiece were brought from previous monuments that communicate something different in context to the time Constantine lead the Roman Empire. For example, the Luna marble panels of the attic taken from the Arch of Marcus Aurelius resemble when Constantine was either at war or doing his civic duties. Another example is one of the medallions showing Hadrian sacrificing a lion representing how Constantine was a very giving and carrying person.
