Aquatic Life In The Neuse River

Some of the aquatic life in the Neuse River includes: Banded sunfish, Glassy darter, Johnny darter, Quillback, and the Yellow Lance. The location of the river originates in Person and Orange counties in the Piedmont region of North Carolina and flows through the Coastal Plain to Pamlico Sound. Fishing can also be a great activity in the river. There seems to be many houses in the watershed. Its large area and many communities, make conditions vary widely from one location to another in the watershed. The major land covers of the watershed include: 61% forest, 16% agriculture, and 17% is urban or suburban. (UNRBA) Population growth is expected to happen in the coming years for the Neuse watershed.
