April Rain Song Poem

What makes a piece of writing into poetry? It’s a piece of writing that may or may not rhyme. It’s both speech and song. Like the poem April Rain Song by Langston Hughes, and A Dream within a Dream by Edgar Allan Poe, The Sidewalk by Lillian Morrison. This the reason I like poetry.

I liked the poem The Sidewalk Racer because a skate board is useless without the rider. The skate board racer rides the skate board with a feeling of freedom. The feeling of swooshing down the street on a skate board with the wind hitting him in the face.

In a Dream within a Dream by Edgar Allan Poe, a confused man has had a dream. He has dreamed about kissing someone. To me, he was a weird man. However, it sounded like a joyful poem.

Hughes, April Rain Song is about loving rain. The poem seems to be the simplest of the poems written by Langston Hughes. According to sources online, “one reason for its apparent simplicity is its rhyme scheme, or rather, its lack of any identifiable rhyme scheme. It is written in free verse.
