Topic: History of Aprils Fool
Specific purpose: at the end of the speech the audience will be able to know about the origins of April fool and the circumstances that led to its start.
Central idea: All people wait the first of April to perform pranks but none of them wondered about the reason behind this day.
Preview: April’s fool became an international day where every culture celebrates it in a different way and there is a history behind its existence.

because of the absence of social media and obstacles in the spread of news globally many people kept on celebrating new year at the first of April for several years until they discovered the Gregorian change and since then they were called the April fools.
1. It began as a way to mock French people who were slow to switch to the Gregorian Calendar which changed New Year's from April 1 to January 1.
Signpost: now we talked about the level where “The New Year” date was changed in France to match that of the romans, and April fool was created.
II. April fool day is celebrated in all regions of the world in different ways and rituals at the first of April except Mexico that celebrates it at the 28th of December.
A. In France, the first day of April is called the “April Fish”. 1. Where they tap a paper fish on the victim back and when the fool discovers it he yells: “poisson d’avril”.
B. In Portugal people tend to throw flour on each other as a custom, where as in Italy it is related to ancient festivals such the hilaria festival which celebrates the renaissance of the god attis.
