SUBJECT: Revised TAG Policy Letter #2, Appointment of Unit Public Affairs Representatives (UPAR)

1. Unit Public Affairs Representatives (UPARs) will be appointed from each KSARNG unit. Commanders must put some thought into who will best fill this role in their unit. All leaders should understand the value of telling the story of our Soldiers and our units, and the UPAR program is the one of the best ways to accomplish this, especially as we are being asked to do more with less.
2. The Adjutant General’s Department Public Affairs staff and 105th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment do not have the enough staff to cover all of the newsworthy events within the KSARNG. These events deserve to be captured and shared within our ranks, with our
