The scientific technology focussed on the nano (extremely small quantity mass or object type of objects) is called nano-technology. The International System of Units (SI) for one billionth of a meter (10^-9) The term nanotechnology was described by Harry as the processing of consolidation, partition and deformation of materials by one molecule or one atom (Tibbals, 2010).

Another application of nanotechnology in daily routine is consumer products. It is used from clothing to cosmetic products.
- Silver nanoparticles used in fabric for the purpose of killing bacteria
- It is used in lithium ion batteries for powering plug-in electric cars
- It is used in skin care products for delivering vitamins deeper into the skin
- Used in furniture with carbon nano-fibers for flame retardant by coating the foam (Everyday Applications of Nanotechnology).
It is used every-where even in toothpaste, tyres, clothes, CDs, bathtubs, toilets..etc (Hullmann, 2007).
