The purpose of the research is to test polluted air samples and see if they match those found in the DNA of humans and animals around the world that had genes that were resistant to antibiotics. The researcher tested DNA of 864 samples and then tested a small number of air samples. The results were that those air samples from Beijing contained the same DNA that is found in antibiotic-resistant genes. Even ones that are resistant to carbapenoms, which is often a type of antibiotics used only as a last measure. (Kubista, 2016). The researcher commented that they were not sure if there are both live and dead bacteria in the air and plan to test to see if this DNA can be spread through the air passing through various sewage plants across
