Application Letter For The Loan Assistant Position

Decent Essays
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing in regards to the training I received for the Loan Assistant position. I would like to go over the strengths and weaknesses I found in my experience with your organization. My training began with a couple of days of reading material and had no interaction with customers. I was then given a few days of shadowing a Loan Officer. The following week I was left on my own to help customers. Even though it is best to jump right in and have the hands on experience, I would have liked to have had formal training. I would like to have had a few days of my manager explaining the procedures and processes rather than having to read a book for that information. The overall amount of time spent for my training was about a week, I would have like to seen at least 2-3 weeks to have gained proper training. According to Frost (2016), training may also build the employee’s confidence because she has a stronger understanding of the industry and the responsibilities of her job. Along with this confidence may come a drive to perform the job better and think of more efficient ways to perform the tasks. For a service to be provided at the credit union, an employee will need to be comfortable with the process of speaking with a customer regarding a loan. A Loan Assistant would be considered a boundary spanner. As the Loan Assistant is a frontstage employee representing the service in the customer’s eyes. According to Fisk, Grove, and John (2014),

I believe more in-depth training could help every aspect of the company. I fully understand that we are a growing business and that makes it difficult to bring new employees on, and have them trained to an extent to where they are well off by themselves but, I feel that we are reaching a point where we can give employees the necessary training for the job. New hires seem to be expected to know how to close and run the store alone within a month, I dont agree with this and I feel that they are not getting the necessary training they need. A training plan or any type of way to organize training to make sure that new hires learn their specific job details I feel would stop pointless mistakes from happening and lower stress within the workplace.…

Training Process Once the company has reviewed and fixed their hiring process and standards, it’s then important to focus on the training your new hire receives. The first two weeks for the new employee are crucial, and it’s important to make that connection then as the hiring manager (Raya). During the training process, it is important for the new hire to receive lengthy detailed training to ensure they are comfortable with the job and feel confident in their ability to perform the tasks before they go off training. Looking back at our fast-food chain example, Pal’s Sudden Service, we can also view their training process as a successful program.…
