This spring season I was named the captain of the tennis team which I have very much enjoyed. This was the first job I ever had and it definitely took me out of my comfort zone. I started when I was fifteen and instantly became apprehensive when parents and coaches would yell at me over calls I made during a game. I quickly had to get used to this and become comfortable with talking to angry adults that don’t agree with my decision-making. I have found that remaining calm and respectful usually helps solve these problems and keeps the game under control. Aside from the angry adults, I enjoy the job and watching all the kids learn how to play a game that I have so many fond memories of.
I have had the opportunity to volunteer at many places throught clubs such as NHS and Junior Civitans. My favorite places to volunteer have always been Samaritan’s Purse and Special Olympics. It is such a humbling and rewarding experience to help out others and put them in the spotlight when they are often forgotten. I am excited about being an ambassador this year at Special Olympics and cheering on all the competitors for their many
