An apple’s skin is smoother than a polished handle yet oranges are so rough you’d think it was an entirely different thing and so would the fact that an apple’s skin’s strength is very different from an orange’s. A orange’s skin is tough and absorbent, in contrast apples have just a very thin and just weak membrane. It is so weak that if you peel an apple by hand it’s skin will break.
