Have you ever wondered how Apple Inc. has become so successful? On April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs and his friend Steve Wozniak founded Apple. Steven Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California. He was put up for adoption and adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. His passion for electronics started as a young child when he would work on small projects with his dad. He was able to take an electronics class in high school and get a job at an HP factory in the summer. His passion for electronics has grown ever since and as a result, Apple has become one of the most valuable companies in the world. was a device with a beautiful, pure white face, and polished stainless steel back, known as the iPod. This was the device that truly transformed Apple Inc. Other companies had made portable music players, but all contained many deficiencies, such as complex interfaces, short battery life, a playlist that only allowed ten songs, and a storage capacity of about sixteen songs total. Jobs was able to produce the iPod with a small LCD screen, a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery that would last through one thousand songs, and most importantly a small, 1.8-inch drive that held five gigabytes of storage (around a thousand songs). Another cool feature integrated into the iPod was a track wheel that allowed the user to scroll through hundreds of songs quickly without having to press a button hundreds of times. Jobs had one main motto in mind when creating the iPod: “Simplify”. Due to the fact that Apple owned the hardware, the software (iTunes), and the operating system, they were able to make the product as simple as possible. This allowed for a great user experience. Because Steve Jobs was able to create such a great product, it drove sales for other devices like the iMac. Steve Jobs was clearly the driving force behind the success of Apple. He had personal quality traits that made him one the most successful entrepreneurs ever. Jobs had the ability to simplify and create new ideas. He was able to imagine products and services and then develop and design them. He was very innovative and his desire to make everything perfect made him successful. Throughout his career he also had to make sacrifices. In 2004, he was battling cancer and had a liver transplant five years later. In August 2011, Steve Jobs had to resign from his role as CEO of Apple due to his health. Less than two months later he passed away. However, Steve Jobs will be remembered by many. He has had a great influence on both me and many others. Steve Jobs once stated, “The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” Jobs has inspired me to make a difference for society. He was able bring us amazing innovations but more importantly many jobs for many people. Steve Jobs was a very successful entrepreneur due his ability to organize a group of people that would make a difference. Even when he was forced to leave his own company, he continued to design and develop. His passion and determination made him a very successful.
