Apple: Can’t keep up with demand

During the release of Apple’s newest iPhones to hit the market, there has been less than appropriate supply for the demand for Apple’s newest phone. According to Paul Noël who published the article iProblems: Learning from apple 's strained supply chain said in his opening paragraph, “Like many of its predecessors, Apple’s latest iPhone iteration is facing supply shortages amid enormous demand.” Apple does not say how far behind production was for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, but it is a fact that the production of the devices was lower than expected and that their was a flaw in Apple’s plan for production. Apple has by far the worst mission statement that just lists current products in its product lines and does not mention any thoughts about its customers or the future of its products. Today Apple’s mission statement says, “Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad.” A more relevant statement that Steve Jobs said back in 1980 is a better statement that shows what Apple is all about.
