What justifies the killing for a zombie exactly, and would I be capable of doing so? The issue then becomes how to treat the infected individuals; do we treat them as if they are completely gone and should be terminated, or do we follow the “marine’s commitment” to leaving no man behind (Thompson, 2006)? Apparently there are three reasons one should terminate a zombie, “they are brain dead, personality is completely gone, and after zombification they become homicidal” (Thompson, 2006). Then, when it comes to the termination of a loved one, the question becomes terminate the infected or become one yourself. Ultimately, in order to save myself and my loved ones, I must terminate all of the infected that threaten our lives, including infected loved ones.

Issues that arise from an impending zombie apocalypse often question one’s morals and ethics. However, in a state of survival mode, ethics and morals do not usually apply within the same sense. When the life of another directly threatens your own life or the life of your loved ones, morality about the infected life flies out the window. Ultimately, the issues that arise do not matter in an apocalypse, what matters is what must be done in order to
