Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) frequently arise with aplastic anemia. Aplastic anemia is a rare disorder associated with hypocellular bone marrow and pancytopenia (Brodsky & Jones, 2005). Additionally, patient with aplastic anemia will have an increase in mean corpuscular volume (MCV), dysplasia, low number of megakaryocytes, and phagocytosis (Scheinberg & Young, 2012). In addition, aplastic anemia patient will have petechial, headache, fatigue, easy bruising, dyspnea, gingival bleeding, fever, heavy menses, and epistaxis.
