Ap Test Reflection Paper

The common student will find AP tests to be a true test of their knowledge for the subject; however, I believe that it is a true test of their maturity. Along with many students, I have previously perceived school to be a shelter only to that of homework and punishing tests. This is a common mindset for students of my age, but I believe that I stand out. I think that challenging myself with AP courses has been my most important accomplishment when it comes to transitioning from childhood to adulthood.

Psychology 201 has been a very intriguing course for me so far. I really enjoyed learning about how the brain works and how big of a role it plays in our lives. Some specific areas of psychology I enjoyed studying were Operant Conditioning, the theories of motivation, and Jean-Dominique Bauby. Operant Conditioning was a familiar concept, even though I was not familiar with the specific terminology. I think reinforcement and punishment are very interesting topics that apply to everyone's lives.…

Reusability, loose coupling, discoverability, and autonomy, are four other design principles of SOA. Reusability enhances composability by ensuring that the design is amendable for future utilization. Unfortunately, if users are ignorant of services then they will not be reused. Therefore, the service registry should be publicized and well design that can help clients identify and use the service that fits their needs. Furthermore, reusability is what allows a service to be composed by many others.…

Actually, I am still in the most challenging academic course I have taken to date, AP United States History (APUSH). APUSH has been difficult for me due to the fact that I had very little knowledge of US history preceding my enrollment in the class. Furthermore, prior to this class I had never really had to study extensively to maintain high marks. APUSH has been different. Having little knowledge of this material, I have had to spend much more time studying.…

Final Exam Essay Prompt: Write about what, specifically, you are going to do with your new found knowledge. They say knowledge comes from experiences, and the experiences this past year have shed a different light on my world. Our actions are direct effects of the world surrounding us, causing every choice I now make to direct, and redirected by many of the recent things we have learned. From grammar rules to discussion points, and the words of our various authors, I have gained new perspective because each lesson has taught me something new, and often it was about myself even more so than the assignment.…

The AP questions were different from typical MC questions in many ways. The questions used more difficult language than I’ve encountered on other tests. The questions were also set up to have two very good answers that both seemed correct, but only one that was best. The seconds best answer was there purposely to distract the test taker. These questions also required you to deeply analyze the passage and meanings behind it.…

I feel like students nowadays are prepared to get tested but the information that needs to known for the test is not something that you end up remember even after the test. It is unfortunate that we test students off of ideas and problems that can be either a myth or reality but regardless, the students need to know what is “right”. “ It is probably inevitable that school curricula will reflect the contradictions between a society’s myths and realities. But while a critical multicultural approach attempts to examine these contradictions, standardization tends to paper them over” (Au, 129). Testing also does not always give the appropriate score for a student because there are students who are not good test takers or freak out when they have a test so are tests really that…

Reflection essay #4 Our discussion about relationship between creativity and spatial reasoning reminds me of a study of “Mozart effect” (Rauscher et al. 1993), which showing that music by Mozart can temporary improves experimental subjects’ spatial reasoning ability comparing to the control group. Of course, the study is not promoting Mozart’s work. Some recent work shows that the music with seizure frequencies close to the working frequencies of brain can help with stimulating brain activity.…

Throughout my educational career standardized testing has been a major part in determining whether or not you can proceed to the next grade or whether you have to take the class again. A Lot of kids that were my age when I had to take the STAAR test usually dreaded having to take a standardized test like the STAAR English II exam. I was no different, I was one of those kids who just wanted to get this test done with and move one. For a while this philosophy of mine worked, however that all would change when I ended up failing the English II STAAR test during my sophomore year of high school. Thus leading to a change in how I would view standardized testing and how my writing composition skills would eventually improve and affect my life.…

I think that people need to change the way we have students take tests. This is because standardized tests are ineffective, they haven’t improved achievement, and they cause severe stress. The first reason I believe that we should change the way students take tests is because these tests are ineffective. Tests don’t prepare children for productive adult…

During the time of my years that I have lived, I have not faced any challenges that were harder academically than taking AP classes. Throughout my years I have faced challenges like riding a bike, walking on my own two feet, or driving a car, but nothing like taking your first AP classes in the senior year. Throughout high school, I kept it out of the way that I would ever take honors or AP classes, but here I am now taking my first AP classes. As now being in the middle of the first 6 week grading period, I have overcome the challenge by doing better on focusing a lot more on school work and not procrastinate and also giving up on certain things like not spending too much time on games lower all the fun activities at a minimum which benefited…

The first half of the second semester in AP Statistics, was used to study the most difficult topics of the year. These included probability theory, probability models, simulation, and sampling distributions. Using all that we learned about these topics we began the real work of statisticians: using confidence intervals and hypothesis testing for inference. We will continue to expand on the basic inference concepts we’ve studied until we complete the AP Statistics curriculum. Our final weeks of the year will be spent preparing for the AP exam.…

Learning can be interpreted in many ways to different individuals, although to me learning is about gaining knowledge and embracing every experience encountered and linking it to any task. Also I would explain that being open minded is a strong attribute to apply during the learning process. During my week one I stated that learning is to open and broaden an individual’s mind on subjects to gain knowledge or skills, and I’ve grown to realize its more than that. People can learn using different methods and be more responsive to one rather than the other. I am a Strong-Willed learner.…
