Advertisement often influences how people feel about themselves often in negative ways. Women feel that they should be slimmer and beautiful and hold a well-paying job while being a full time mother. While men should be built, athletic, caring and handsome husbands and thoughtful fathers. They are asking for both mother and father to be super humans, having both exceptional beauty, intelligence, and other qualities which is often unrealistic and unattainable. Also, consumers don’t know what they are buying as stated in source F. Additional to that advertisement affects children also, since children’s food preferences are based off them. Children are more susceptible to advertisement because the advertisement encourage them to ask their parents for the sugary product regardless if the product are good for the children or not.
