The first line simply describes the physical appearance of Europium; metallic and silver (although it’s not actually silver, just a similar color!) “Displaying” refers to how Europium was used in old TVs as a red color, and with the colors blue and green, they would be able to display TV shows and commercials. “Fluorescing” ties into the fact that Europium glows, or fluoresces, red under a blacklight. And “oxidizing” finishes that line of the poem since Europium is known to react very quickly in air, which is why samples of the element are usually found in test tubes or a solution that won’t let it oxidize.
