2nd step, Pre-teach essential vocabulary - I will plan to pre-teach five vocabularies by asking the students to solve this scramble word: OOLLHAC (ALCOHOL), but the letters are still hidden. First, I write all five new words on the board at once, read the definition (not in order) of each new word, and wait for students’ answers. Each time students match the definition with the listed words correctly, one (or two) scramble letter(s) will be revealed. When all the letters are revealed, everyone is invited to solve the scramble word OOLLHAC. There will be a hint to help students solve the scramble such as drinking, must be over 21 years old in the U.S., pregnant women not recommended, etc.
Five words are:
Bloody Mary (a mixed cocktail with vodka, tomato juice, and other spices)

The teacher let the students give the definition of each new word and help them correct when the game goes on. 3rd step, Reading for main idea – I allow the student to skim the article and ask the students to answer these questions: Why the author of the article suggests, “So, drink up!” at the end of the article? What issue is the Jet2 airplane company dealing with in the article? Now, ask the students to share their answers with the class and collect general key points.

2. According to Jet2’s observation, why does the company pursue a lifetime ban for its drunk passengers?
3. What actions does Jet2 take to prevent emergency landings due to misbehaviors of drunk

Those words marked the end of two young women’s lives and the end of Ms. Mendoza’s freedom. On November 17, 2013 Ms. Mendoza chose to drink two margaritas with co-workers and get behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated. Her decision led to the death of two 21-year olds, Kaitlyn Ferrante and Marisa Catronio, who fell victim to a deadly car accident on the Sawgrass Expressway. Kayla Mendoza’s tweet “2 drunk 2 care” demonstrates the feeling of invincibility that causes people to get behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated.…
