Since childhood, writing and reading has been a consistent interest of mine. Whether it was creating a fairytale for class or reading dozens of books during Summer break, literature remained in my heart. However, it was not until this year that I shared and celebrated this passion. In March of this year, I was honored to be selected as a finalist of the Wharton Center for Performing Arts and Michigan State University’s 20th Annual Young Playwrights Festival. As a part of my AP English Literature class, I was encouraged to enter my play, Cursed Tongue, into the statewide competition.
