Poem Analysis: Anyone Lived In A Pretty How Town

E.E. Cummings, in his poem “Anyone lived in a pretty how town.” The plot of this poem talks about people in an ordinary town, everyone in this town always stick to the same paths the people before them stuck to. They all follow the passage of growing into adult hood and leaving their childish behaviors behind them. It talks about how they marry each other and then their children stick to the very same ways as their parents nothing ever changes in this town it’s all the same. But then comes along two different characters who are different then everyone else the first one is anyone he is very joyful which is shown by his dancing and singing. Then the next one is no one she is the complete opposite of anyone but these two are in love with each other but they don’t understand that until anyone dies and no one is seen kissing him on the face. It takes place in a small pretty how town which most people can compare their towns to. By saying pretty how town it allows the readers to get involved because most people do live in little towns. Most people in real life can relate to this poem because most parents have plans for their kids when their older, most parents want the best for all their kids. Like in the poem most kids at a young age are rebellious and just plain childish, but as they grow older their parents get more involved and try to push them in the same way as they went. Most kids return to their home towns and settle down get a job then get married but there are always some kids that don’t go back they go off on their own and do there own things what they want to do. Those people just want to run their own lives exactly how anyone and no one behave in this poem they are different than everyone else and that is what makes this poem
