The Anxiety of Technology or Social Technology
In 1936, the very first computer was commercialized, later on in the year of 1969, the creation of the internet was released. These two revolutionary inventions have globally impacted our society in regards to research and information as well as our entertainment and new forms of communication. Many websites have been created for social purposes such as Facebook, MSN, and Hotmail. Fast forward to 1973, the portable cell phone was created, allowing texts and calls to be made from around the world. A large part of theses inventions were made with good intentions of widening our options for easier social connections. In most cases, however, technology does not build on our social connections
